How to install on ONN

Since your Onn 4K box (including the Pro and Plus models) runs on Google TV, installing the Downloader app by AFTVnews is straightforward because it is available directly in the official Play Store.

1. Install the Downloader App

1. On your Home screen, go to the Search tab at the top or hold the Google Assistant (mic) button on your remote.
2. Say or type "Downloader".
3. Look for the orange icon (Downloader by AFTVnews).
4. Select Install.
5. Note: If it doesn't appear in the standard search, hold the mic button and say "Open Google Play Store" to search within the store directly.

2. Enable "Developer Options" (Required)

Google TV hides the setting to install "Unknown Apps" by default. You must unlock it:

1. Go to Settings (the gear icon on your top right).
2. Select System > About.
3. Scroll down to the very bottom and highlight Android TV OS Build.
4. Press the Select/Center button on your remote repeatedly (about 7 times) until a message says, "You are now a developer!"

3. Grant Permission to Downloader

Now you need to give the app permission to install other files:

1. Go back to Settings > Apps > Security & Restrictions.
2. Select Unknown Sources (or Install Unknown Apps).
3. Find Downloader in the list and toggle the switch to On.

4. How to Use It

1. Open the Downloader app.
2. In the "Enter a URL or Search Term" box, you can type 8156218 and Click go.
3. Once the file downloads, select Install.

Troubleshooting Tips

• Permission Denied: If the app asks for storage permissions when you first open it, make sure to select Allow or it won't be able to save files.
• Search Bug: Some Onn users report that searching for "Downloader" in the main menu doesn't work. If this happens, use the voice command "Open Google Play Store" and search from there.

• Browser Plugin: If you try to browse a website and it says a plugin is missing, enter browser.aftvnews.com in the URL bar to install the necessary browser component.
